Mobile Operator Three UK Shifts Central Office to Reading

Mobile network operator Three UK has today announced that they intend to combine both their two Thames Valley offices into a single central one for the first time, which is to be based in Reading. The new 117,000 square foot building is currently still under construction at the Green Park business centre.

In addition, Three says they’ve also been looking at the way they work and have decided to “embed a hybrid approach” to working across all their offices. Employees will thus be encouraged to see the office as a hub they can use in combination with home working, rather than a place to work 5 days a week.

Assuming all goes to plan then the operator aims to have their colleagues working in the new central office from Q3 of 2021.

Robert Finnegan, CEO of Three UK, said:

“Maidenhead has been our home for the last 17 years and we’re thankful for the support of the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead Council during this time.

But now it is time for a new chapter in Three’s history and we are really excited to be moving our central office into Green Park, Reading. We have looked hard to find a place that fits the type of organisation we are today, but also one that will suit us as we grow over the coming years.”

The move will no doubt add a longer commute for some of their existing staff, although others may find the new location easier to access. At present Three UK employs more than 4,800 people across their current offices in Maidenhead, Glasgow and Reading, including their 311 retail stores.

I like the idea of encouraging saff to see the new offices as a hub to be used along with home working. A good idea for those who would have to travel further to the new offices.

If you want to make three a better network get rid of them useless smelly Indian call centres. Absolute nightmare to deal with.

Completely uncalled for racist nonsense. I sincerely hope you adjust your attitude.

Never had an issue with any of the overseas call staff with Three.

From my experience, I think Three has some of the best customer service in the business. Equally similar to Tesco Mobile. Have you ever tried speaking to Vodafone? How about EE? You will be lucky if they even remember your name towards the end of the call.

Indian call center or anywhere for that matter doesn’t reflect the service received. I have spoke to Three’s call centers in India and their Scottish call center. Just as good service friendly service.

That scornful attitude isn’t going to get you far

3 and some of the best customer service? Have a day off. A majority of companies that have offshore customer service are absolutely dire. Shows their true intentions – maximising their profits and putting customer service way down the list when it comes to investment.

Smelly you say, a person who probably has his two orifices switched around.

Good to see Three staying in Berkshire. Thames Valley Park has great road access.

I’ve always found the call centre abroad to be utterly useless and totally inept at solving any 4g issues whatsoever. Hopefully they’ll return they’re support to the UK because they currently have none as far as i can see.

    Three Mobile Network

The China mobile network, cheap and supporting Chinese regimes. Yes they own half of hong kong and when unrest was there they support govement. They have shares in data stealing devices from Huawai.
Just asking- if huawai get banned in UK why the three mobile network is not banned as a MVO here? Why?
Their customer service I will score less than 2 stars.
Their staff … hahahaha lack of knowlage and so called circles of really low educated managers is just epic.
Their staff doesnt even know what is on offer in their competitors or things about mobiles they sell… more than that.. you go there and their low paid staff will try to give on contract on multi sales so called deals …
they shall be fine by OfCom for trading which is breaking customers rights …
Anyway in court with them and I will demand to ban that MVO from UK as they not only dont bring anything good but also damage a lot

The China mobile network, cheap and supporting Chinese regimes. Yes they own half of hong kong and when unrest was there they support govement. They have shares in data stealing devices from Huawai. << They didn't have much choice as far as supporting government go much as UK operators don't if given direction. You can't buy shares in 'data stealing devices'. The company is called 'Huawei'.

Just asking- if huawai get banned in UK why the three mobile network is not banned as a MVO here? Why? << They are an MNO. Mobile Network Operator. Huawei is being phased out of UK networks, it's not banned outright. Three aren't the only ones using it.

Their customer service I will score less than 2 stars.
Their staff … hahahaha lack of knowlage and so called circles of really low educated managers is just epic. <<< Your inability to spell 'knowledge' was pretty epic given the context.

Anyway in court with them and I will demand to ban that MVO from UK as they not only dont bring anything good but also damage a lot <<< I'm sure you will. I'm also sure English isn't your native language and seriously doubt you have ongoing court proceedings against Three.

If, however, you do and think you are able to demand their network be shut down I strongly recommend you seek independent legal advice. What you've written here is potentially libellous and, if they were so inclined, you could indeed find yourself in court with them, but not quite in the manner you imagine.

three need some serious upgrading to their network core lack of bandwidth across 4G/5G….speeds are like dail up era….prices are too cheap they are selling cheap deals to gain customers numbers……yes been with 3 since 2013 service is declining so fast once I was in london tried to use googlemaps nothing loaded on 4G switched to 3G everyone works fine….contacted customer service told me keep your phone on 3G network….lol

I just wish would repair the local mast issues. its been almost a year with issues and upgrades going on. I’ve been using 3G with data speeds below 1mbps. All 3 say is they are doing all they can due to the pandemic. Yet they still expect me to pay the full price for a sub standard service.

I lost £380 under scam text received from premium no. Scam company refused to refund me and said they had shared 50%share to three. Still after few years I have not received single pence refund. Call centre workers don’t know my pain they just laugh.

    1. Avatar photo CarlT says:

You are complaining about a scam operation refusing to refund you and believe what they tell you about Three?

If they refunded you they wouldn’t be much of a scam operation.

Them being a scam operation doesn’t make me rate their honesty.

I received a new mobile from Samsung a couple of days before Christmas. It took me 4 x whole weeks to prize a new sim card out of “Three”, many conversations ending with “will be with you tomorrow”.

But then: No help whatsoever from “Three” on installing new sim card. It is only a matter of time before the masses rise up and destroy this usurpation of power by service providers. Please rest peaceful in your new headquarters. The revolution whereby no mobile phone will ever have to see a fiddly fernickerty sim card is racing towards you from all directions on the horizon !!!

Customer service on the phone is excellent

Also the office in Southampton very helpful
