Three UK Launch Cheap New Unlimited Data Business Plans

Mobile operator Three UK has this week launched a new range of “Boundless Business” packages, which are said to offer unlimited calls, texts (SMS) and data (mobile broadband) SIM packs from just £5 +vat per month each (but you’ll need to buy ten or more of them to reach that price point).

According to the operator’s website: “The more Unlimited data SIM plans you buy, the more you’ll save with our Boundless offer, whether you’re a team of 5 or 50. And our 24-month SIM is up to 30% cheaper than our biggest competitors” (i.e. they state this as 30% cheaper than Vodafone, EE and O2 – as shown on their websites, 14th May 2021).

In short, if you buy a single Boundless Business SIM you’ll actually pay £14.17 per month per SIM, but if you were to buy 2 SIMs then the total cost would be £20 per month (just £10 per SIM) and this drops all the way down to £5 per SIM once you’ve purchased 10+ of them.

Mike Tomlinson, MD of Business at Three UK, said:

“Over the past year we’ve been forced to live in a bubble, but business and commerce is about operating in a system. This is a significant moment for the business market, and small businesses in particular, to review their ways of working. Many will be considering what they have learnt, how customer behaviours have changed and how they can improve their business model moving forward.

There is a long period of transition ahead for many of our business customers. Our job at Three is to be there with flexible solutions under all circumstances. Keeping them connected, whether it’s in the office, remote working, at home, or in the cloud. We can deliver the services to enable the new world.”

End.

Extremely competitive, hope the other operators take notice.

Three have had three separate price increases in 2021 alone and its only the start of June. No way would I go with them.

Brave move, really makes me wonder if they have the mast capacity to offer what they’re selling though! (its one thing to offer a service you can’t deliver to home broadband users, but its a totally different animal with businesses.

Still 10 mobile sims, 10 routers, bridged together, you’ll get 100Mbps at peak times!

Business lines are probably more phone calls and emails than using high bandwidth systems or applications (assumption) so possibly not that much an impact versus someone watching HD all day long.

I agree somewhat though they need to sort out what they have for non business user requirements before adding extra users in an already stretched to capacity network.

Ah yes, £5 per month unlimited SIMs, just what Three need to help resolve their backhaul issues…

I’ve been a long time reader of ISPreview and have noticed a trend recently from certain people who are always constantly moaning about Three UK. If they raise the price you argue, if they give you good value, you argue or if they say they are upgrading the network you complain your area has not been upgraded first. I think a lot of readers will agree with myself in saying grow up and get a life. In the UK and many other countries, you have the right the leave and go somewhere else if your not happy with your service. We don’t live in a country that’s controlled by only one monopoly to choose from, we have many choices as consumers for who we pick our mobile and broadband services with.

If your not happy, then leave your provider. I think the only reason a lot of people moan of here (some more than others) is because they love the price but expect the service to be as good as the best. Stop living in a fantasy, I’m sure you’ve been told throughout your lives, you get what you pay for ultimately.

I agree with what you say.
Wherever there’s a Three post, Everyone jumps on it.
I live in South Wales and their coverage is great & I’ve seen it improve so much.
Speeds on LTE are improving a lot also.
Everyone who has had bad experiences with them think they are bad for everyone. But not everyone has the same experiences.
For me they are the best choice.
I’m not demanding the fastest speeds like EE can offer on LTE-A. It’s not all about speed.
The worst operator here is O2, they’ve not made much effort outside of the cities.
But if someone says they are great where they live, I don’t have a bash at them for saying different.

Three have recognised their issues & are addressing them.
Like yourself in bored of idiots bashing them on everything they do.

I’m happy someone has spoken up on this.

To be fair this isn’t anything against Three really: the usual suspects complain about literally everything.

You never see a positive or informative comment from some.

I used Three for a couple of years, but moved to EE when they upgraded the local mast as it is a good bit faster (three only have a 5Mhz band here). At the new prices I may move all our family mobile phones to Three, and use a Three SIM as the backup SIM in my 4G router.

I’ve been with 3 since 2008. Their service was ok till ~ 4 years ago. the other year I went into London for an interview and was shocked at how bad the bandwidth was, despite full reception bars throughput was less than 1mb/s. Looking at maps, checking emails, searching on google was terrible, from Waterloo through Canary Wharf, Oxford street, Soho, Stratford etc all terrible throughput.

At home in Hampshire I used to get 70mbs down 40mbs up which outperformed my VM service at the time.
recently I’ve been lucky to get 10mbs from the same spot.

the other year I found a great deal which I could only get on three if I took out the new, closed the old and transferred my number which the customer services guy sorted out for me, he even phoned me back at the allotted date and time to get it all done.

this year they tell me as I’ve only been with them a short time they are limited as to the deals they can offer!! so I found another great deal on ID (mvno on three) 15GB for £8 with rollover and 30 day contract.

yes I should have moved off of 3 but as I’ve been either at home, work or within wifi range of something for the last 12 months then cheap has been preferable & service has been ok till recently.

if it stays rubbish I’ll move on to maybe sky, I’m ok loosing out £8 if it comes to that.

passing through a 3 5G area my other halfs phone showed 660mbs which I think is ok for £10pm for 12GB.

If I need it to work in London I’ll change provider.

I have to agree with what ‘sick of the moaners’ has said, you see this with every 3UK news story and a lot of the blame is by users who didn’t do some some simple checks first – well said! (Transparency – I am a 3UK user but accept what I’m getting for usage case and price)

  7. Avatar photo adslmax says:

Three are horrible network in Telford hardly get over 4Meg some day! Overnight between 3am and 5am speed shoot up to 85Meg. Badly congestion.

  8. Avatar photo Gary says:

Ok so i’m not three bashing as this really applies to all operators,

So with this product Three can offer unlimited data calls and texts for £5 a month… So I assume they’re going to scrap all the other tariffs as this is the price they can offer unlimited everything.

    I think not

  9. Avatar photo Jimbo says:

Three’s network in CV13 is so slow 3M at peak times.

Slightly different news,Poynting have released a wireless enclosure for 4G/5G built in to the antenna.

      In CV10 it’s a blazing 600kbps!
