Broadband Genie Gobbles Broadband Tools and Broadband.co.uk

Broadband ISP comparison website BroadbandGenie.co.uk, which is owned by Genie Ventures Ltd (this also includes the Office Genie, Genie Goals, and Genie Shopping sites), has just completed the purchase of Broadband Tools Ltd and its subsidiary comparison site Broadband.co.uk for an undisclosed sum.

Under the plan, Broadband Genie and Broadband.co.uk will continue to operate as separate, distinct brands as part of the Genie Ventures Ltd family. According to the announcement, both sites launched in 2004, which they claim makes them the “longest-running broadband comparison websites in the UK” (NOTE: ISPreview.co.uk has been around since 1999 and lists hundreds of ISPs for free, not only the bigger commercial players).
