Full fibre UK ISP Hyperoptic, which is rolling out a new gigabit-capable FTTP/B broadband network across parts of 43 towns and cities (mostly large residential buildings and office blocks), have decided to celebrate their 10th anniversary this month by offering their top “gigabit” (900Mbps avg.) package for just £20 per month.
At present Hyperoptic’s network already covers well over 600,000 premises (estimated) and they’ve previously expressed an ambition to cover 5 million UK premises by the end of 2024 (mostly in urban areas), although it’s unclear whether that goal still stands after a recent slowdown in progress (here).
Nevertheless, the provider has come a long way since they first sprang up in 2011 to become one of the UK’s very first alternative full fibre networks. In order to celebrate their 10th anniversary, they’ve decided to run an extra special offer, which dramatically cuts the price of their symmetric 900Mbps (average) package from a post-contract rate of £60 per month to just £20 per month on a 24-month contract term (plus a £20 one-off activation fee).
As usual, all packages come with unlimited usage, 24/7 support, a wireless router and a dynamic IP address or £5 extra per month for a Static IP. Adding a phone (voice) service to any of their packages will also increase the monthly cost by £2.
The promotion code for their new discount, which you need to enter during the order process and is only available to new customers, is simply BIRTHDAY10 and if you want to get this extra special price then you’ll need to place your order by 20th October 2021. The price isn’t showing on their website yet, but that should change later this morning.
Good effort and thank you Hyperoptic… BT & others take note.
BT are price constrained by OFCOM and the legal actions of the alt-nets and VM.
So if you think BT are too expensive then complain to all those alt-nets who take legal action to force OFCOM to set high prices for BT so that they can uncut BT.
Fantastic value if you are in an area they serve – well done Hyperoptic
Virgin Media O2 take note!
Though VMs £62pm is overpriced this hyperoptic price is just a one time promotion.
But importantly:
a) the price is offered for 24 months, not a sneaky “3 months cheap and then the remaining 21 months expensive”
b) even before this promotion Hyperoptic were offering gigabit broadband on a 24 month term for £35 per month
