Business and residential ISP Glide Group, which is busy extending their UK full fibre broadband network (leased lines and FTTP etc.), has this week announced the appointment of Max Fernando as their new Head of Regulation & Compliance to represent the company in related discussions.
The name Max Fernando is a familiar one as he was only recently appointed Chair of the Independent Networks Cooperative Association’s (INCA) Standards Committee and, prior to that, he held the position of Regulatory Manager at BT. Fernando has also worked across three teams at Ofcom.
In his new role at Glide, Fernando will head up the implementation of a number of upcoming regulatory telecommunications initiatives, such as the UK Government’s new Telecoms Security Bill (TSB), Ofcom’s One Touch Switching (OTS) system to improve migration between ISPs and the £5bn Project Gigabit broadband rollout, ensuring they work for AltNets as well as the larger players in the market.

Tim Pilcher, CEO of Glide Group, said:
“We are delighted to have Max join the Glide team during a time of crucial telecommunications regulatory initiatives. With an extensive background in the industry, Max will add extraordinary knowledge and expertise. His appointment marks a significant step working with regulators, government and industry to ensure that future initiatives achieve their goals for AltNets.”
End.
