Hull-based UK ISP Pure Broadband, which currently delivers internet connectivity services to homes and businesses covered by the full fibre networks from KCOM, CityFibre and OFNL, has today added a fourth network provider in the shape of MS3. The latter is busy building across the North of England.
At present MS3 runs an independent Dark Fibre and business focused broadband network in Hull (East Yorkshire), which also serves a number of homes via a limited FTTP broadband platform. But the operator recently announced plans to cover a total of 500,000 premises in the North of England via a new Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) broadband network, which is open access for UK ISPs to harness (here).
The new network expansion work has already started in Hull, around the Great Thornton Street and Gipsyville areas, and it appears as if Pure Broadband has today become the first ISP to make use of the new infrastructure. In fact, they’ve already begun to connect their first homes to this gigabit-capable broadband service.
Tony Jopling, MD of Pure Broadband, said:
“We’re delighted to be working with MS3 Networks to give more households across Hull a choice when it comes to full-fibre broadband.
Increased competition in the broadband market leads to better prices and service for customers, so Pure Broadband’s partnership with MS3’s is brilliant news for local residents.
Pure Broadband have several thousand full-fibre broadband customers across Hull and we’re already taking orders to connect new customers to the MS3 Network as it becomes available.
Residential prices on the new network start at £28 per month on a 24-month term for a 100Mbps (symmetric) broadband package, which rises to £46 per month for their top 900Mbps tier. Some of these packages are currently being offered free for the first 1 or 2 months of service, at least until the end of this month. A £25 one-off connection fee applies, and the packages also include a free router.

If MS3/CityFibre isn’t available in areas of Hull, I’m guessing you’re using the existing KCOM network?
