Winning Operators of the Inaugural UK Fibre Awards 2022 Named UPDATE

Friday, Jun 10th, 2022 (8:24 am) - Score 2,144
UK-Fibre-Awards-2022

The inaugural UK Fibre Awards event was held last night, which saw various broadband ISPs and full fibre network builders across ten categories pick up awards for their achievements. Some of the winners included Giganet, which was named ‘Overall Fibre Provider of the Year‘, while G.Network scooped ‘Best Urban Fibre Provider‘.

The event is a new creation that is being backed by telecoms / ICT centric media and event organisation firm BPL Business Media, with CityFibre as the main sponsor. According to the website, the event is a “truly unique awards process which will recognise the stand-out organisations, projects, technology and investments at the heart of the UK’s booming fibre, alternative network and carrier sector growth.” Good.

However, much as we’ve previously mentioned, many of the award categories are similar to those that already exist under more established events, such as those from the ISPA and Connected Britain.

The fibre award “industry” is becoming more and more like the movie and gaming ones

Have no objective metrics, get to award products that are not the best blending them with legit ones and at the end there is no trust so people will instead refer to user reviews anyway

But even the movie and TV industries recognise ALL producers unlike these awards which are firmly in the ignore BT, KCOM and Virgin categories. Just fluff for marketing and ignoring the real drivers behind FTTP in the UK.

Not true, example “What is a Woman” is currently at 2500+ user reviews on rotten tomatoes (97% score) and is the most watched movie at home after Top Gun but only one single critic review because the company that produced it has took a stance to stand up against the Hollywood mafia

One look at the Oscars/emmies/british awards for the last few years will tell you that the elites are out of touch with reality

Sad not to see CommunityFibre picking up any awards.
