Network builder MS3 has today launched a new tool on their website, which allows users to compare and purchase broadband packages from its ISP partners. The provider is currently rolling out a new 10Gbps capable FTTP broadband network to cover 500,000 premises across the North of England by the end of 2025 (here).
The operator, which is being backed by an unspecified investment from Asterion and already claims to have built their open access (wholesale) full fibre network footprint across 100,000 premises (NOT all of these are Ready for Service), claims to be the “first network operator of its kind to launch its own comparison platform.” But this isn’t entirely correct, since CityFibre has a similar feature, albeit one that’s quite limited.
A number of UK ISPs are already offering broadband packages via MS3’s new network, such as Hull Fibre, Octaplus, Link Broadband, OpenFibre, FiberZone, Direct Save Telecom, Zone Broadband, Infinics and Squirrel. But one big difficulty is that a lot of consumers use commercial price comparison websites to compare ISPs and most alternative networks aren’t on those.

Adam Kelly, Marketing Manager at MS3 Networks, said:
“We’re hoping to solve a challenge that’s been affecting connectivity in the UK for years. The broadband monopoly in our area has been prevalent for some time and, while greater choice in provider is arriving, many customers still feel without options. From our own market research conducted earlier in 2023, we found there’s still a consensus that people lack choice in broadband provider.
Offering tools such as our new Ecommerce function will help turn that tide. We want to make options as clear and easy-to-navigate as possible, while showcasing the range of ISPs available in the local area. It’s about more than just delivering an ultrafast internet connection, it’s about providing customers with a space to explore products, have a simple process of receiving recommendations and comparing prices and features. This way, we can closely work with partners and their customer base to provide them with the best full-service solutions via our website.”
End.
