Leicester-based broadband ISP Gigabit Networks, which previously focused on connecting premises across the Midlands of England via CityFibre’s full fibre network (they also work with FullFibre Limited), has today announced the expansion of their service availability to encompass CityFibre’s national footprint.
At present CityFibre’s 10Gbps capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) network covers 3 million premises (up from 2.5m in January 2023) and 2.6 million of those are considered to be ‘Ready For Service’ by a supporting broadband ISP. But despite some recent build setbacks, they still aim to be “substantially completed” on their target of 8 million premises – across over 285 cities, towns and villages (c.30% of the UK) – by the end of 2025 (here).
So far only a very few ISPs can claim to have achieved national availability, or at least something very close to it, across CityFibre’s entire network (e.g. Vodafone, TalkTalk, Giganet and Zen Internet etc.). But today’s announcement suggests that Gigabit Networks are about to become the latest addition to that list.

David Yates, co-founder of Gigabit Networks, said:
“We initially set out to deliver exceptional service to the people of the Midlands, but the overwhelming national demand for reliable broadband with a personal touch cannot be ignored. We intend to keep things straightforward, and now is the perfect moment to provide more people across the UK with unparalleled broadband that just works.”
To celebrate this expansion, Gigabit Networks has introduced the Gigafast Home 900Mbps service at a special launch price of £29.99 per month. But at the time of writing we could only see their equivalent GigaFast Pro plan on a 24-month term, which offers the first 3 months of service for just £20 per month and then the remaining months at £40.
UPDATE 1:42pm
The new package is due to launch on 7th September.
Would be nice of CityFibre to actually announce the Phase 2 work that they’re working on. Their twitter feed is terrible to get comms out of as is their contact us. Shame as they’re shaking up the way that the incumbents currently do things (e.g. VM, BT)
Ring them, email them loads until they know you by name. I was able to find out when they were cabling my area months in advance and then when they’d be going live. I found them to be far more transparent that the titan that is BT.
Is it all the nations, or just England like Andrews and Arnold have with city fibre ,?
Anyone know who’s network they are using?
City Fibre, who tell me that service isn’t available at my address in Leicester. Gigabit Networks claim otherwise.
@Jonners
Possibly because Giga use other networks as well not just CF?
@Badem only CF and OR pass us here
they’re already available in gloucester
If anyone signs up, please post your ping times! With Zen currently and they’re atrocious on CityFibre. Wish I’d never signed up.
