Network builder and broadband ISP Brsk, which has already deployed their own gigabit speed Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) network to 250,000 UK premises (RFS), has today announced that they’ve expanded further into Lancashire (England) with the addition of Darwen.
The operator officially began building their network in Lancashire last year and has already passed 75,000 homes in the region, including in locations such as Burnley, Hyndburn, Padiham and Blackburn – to name but a few. But it’s unclear precisely how long the new build will take to complete.
The launch of full fibre in Darwen will, once completed, enable brsk to cover more than 100,000 homes across Lancashire (full fibre access in Darwen is currently said to be at less than 35%). But we should point out that Virgin Media’s gigabit-capable network already covers most of the town, while Openreach currently only has patchy coverage.

Darryl Nieuwenhuizen, Regional Head of brsk for Lancashire, said:
“Strong digital connectivity has become fundamental to our daily lives and we are proud to serve the community’s connectivity needs for decades to come. We’re thrilled to be able to include Darwen in our coverage.”
Standard prices typically start from £18 per month (usually £25) for an unlimited 100Mbps symmetric speed package on a 24-month term (inc. a free installation and router), which rises to £30 (usually £45) for their top 900Mbps package.
