ITS Technology Partners Evolve to Help Upgrade UK Fibre Networks

The ITS Technology Group, which operates 36 wholesale full fibre broadband and Ethernet networks (“Faster Britain“) across urban parts of the UK for businesses and ISPs, has partnered up with Evolve to help it employ the latest technology as they upgrade their old GPON network to be 10Gbps (symmetrical) capable.

According to the blurb, “Evolve’s ability to offer ground-breaking technology is bolstered by ITS’ adoption of state-of-the-art technology“. Its fibre network, equipped with dense wavelength-division multiplexing (DWDM) capability, allows flexible bandwidth expansion. By consolidating data signals from various sources over a single fibre, Evolve can cater to multiple end-users, delivering up to 10Gbps bandwidth while maintaining data stream separation.

The announcement doesn’t actually include a lot of information on the specifics of this partnership, except to highlight the general benefits of extra bandwidth in a network and the use of technologies that are somewhat par for the course when it comes to XGS-PON based fibre.
