Grayshott Gigabit Fibre Cable Drum on Rural Road

Broadband ISP Grayshott Gigabit, which is deploying a new gigabit-capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) network across rural parts of East Hampshire, the Surrey Hills and surrounding areas, recently became the latest UK provider to launch a cheaper social tariff – called ‘Connect‘ – for those on certain benefits.

CityFibre UK has today announced that their long-held plan to deploy a new gigabit-capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) broadband ISP network across the Kent (England) town of Sittingbourne, which is expected to cost £9.5 million, will finally get underway “later this year“.

Rural UK ISP County Broadband, which is currently building gigabit speed Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) networks to over 250 villages across Norfolk, Essex, Suffolk, and Cambridgeshire in England, has today announced that they’ve appointed civil engineering firm NGE to help expand their coverage to 20,000 premises in Norfolk.

Broadband ISP Ogi has today published the next phase of their rollout plan for South Wales, which will see their full fibre network coverage jump from a handful of communities to 38 (c.80,000 premises). All of this forms part of their £200m plan to extend a Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) network to 150,000 premises by 2025.

The move is said to signal the start of a “huge expansion” for the company.

The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has banned a website advert for UK mobile operator Lebara after a rival provider, Vectone Mobile, complained that the company was “misleadingly” promoting “unlimited” UK minutes and texts on plans that included a Fair Usage Policy (FUP) with thresholds.
