Mobile operator Vodafone has warned investors in the United Kingdom that its planned June 2013 launch of superfast 4G (LTE) based mobile broadband services in the 800MHz and 2.6GHz band could now face several months of additional delay.

A new RootMetrics study of Mobile Broadband performance in Hull (East Yorkshire, England) has revealed that EE was the fastest mobile operator with an average download speed of 9.6Mbps and an upload of 5.5Mbps (Megabits per second). Three UK became the distant runner-up with O2 and Vodafone delivering the slowest performance.

The government’s Communications Minister, Ed Vaizey, has told the House of Commons that he still hopes 90% of the United Kingdom will have access to a superfast broadband (25Mbps+) ISP by the end of 2015.
