Broadband ISP and digital infrastructure builder Grain (Grain Connect) has today added three new locations to their ongoing UK rollout of a gigabit-capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) network, which will see them building across Watford (Hertfordshire), Reading (Berkshire) and Northampton (East Midlands).

Fibre builder and UK ISP Swish Fibre, which until now has been busy deploying their gigabit-capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) broadband network to cover 250,000 premises across the Home Counties of England, has begun to extend their plans into Yorkshire by establishing a new subsidiary – Swish Fibre Yorkshire.

Swish Fibre, which is building a gigabit-capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) broadband ISP network to cover 250,000 premises across the Home Counties of England, appears to have quietly added a few additional locations to their build plans – mostly catching some of those that were near to existing deployments.

The Berkshire (England) towns of Sandhurst and Crowthorne have just become the latest to start going live on Zzoomm’s new 10Gbps capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) broadband ISP network, which should eventually reach over 10,500 premises in the two locations. The UK ISP has also frozen their prices.

The Broadband Delivery UK team have just published a new batch of Public Reviews (PR) and Open Market Reviews (OMR) for additional parts of England – mostly covered by Phase 2 of the Government’s £5bn Project Gigabit broadband rollout. Both aim to identify which areas need state aid support for future builds.

Broadband ISP Trooli, which aims to reach 1 million premises with their gigabit-capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) network by the end of 2024 (mostly across Kent, East Sussex, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Suffolk), appears to have recently added a number of new locations to the “coming soon” section of their rollout plan.

The Reading Borough Councillor for Transport, Tony Page, has warned CityFibre that the local traffic disruption being caused by their rollout of a new gigabit speed Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) broadband ISP network in the town is so bad that, if it doesn’t improve, they may “seek to remove” the company’s contractor Instalcom.

UK ISP Virgin Media Business (VMO2) has secured a major new state aid supported contract from the West Berkshire Council (WBC) in England, which will see them deploy a new “full fibre” broadband and Ethernet network to connect more than 80 public sites (schools, GPs and public libraries etc.) by March 2022.

Broadband ISP Trooli, which is building a new gigabit-capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) network across parts of South and South East England, has signed one of the first long-term Joint User Pole (JUP) agreements with UK Power Networks. The move will enable them to run their fibre optic cables across certain low voltage electricity poles.

Rural focused UK broadband ISP Gigaclear has been spotted deploying their Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) network infrastructure into the large Surrey village of Bagshot (population 5,600), which appears to be somewhat of a first for the provider as they haven’t previously announced much for the county.

Rural focused UK broadband ISP Gigaclear has today announced that they intend to deploy their gigabit-capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) network across 4,300 premises in Ascot, and a further 4,400 properties in the village of Sunninghill (Berkshire). But they’ll need to fend off altnet rivals Zzoomm, and possibly also Trooli.

UK ISP Zzoomm has today revealed that their new 10Gbps capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) broadband network will shortly be expanding into Staffordshire (England), specifically thousands of homes and businesses within the town of Cannock, which is home to a local population of c.30,000.
