Network builder Netomnia, which is being supported by UK broadband ISP partner YouFibre, has today confirmed that their 10Gbps capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP / XGS-PON) network is being extended to cover homes and businesses in the three towns and villages of Oldham, Dalton in Furness and Doddington.

Cambridgeshire-based UK ISP Connect Fibre (Fibre Assets Ltd.), which aims to build a new gigabit-capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) broadband network to cover 100,000 premises across the East of England, has announced that their first non-trial build in the village of Sutton-in-the-Isle will start connecting homes in June.

CityFibre has today announced that their long-running £35m project to rollout a new full fibre (FTTP) broadband ISP network across the Cambridgeshire (England) city of Peterborough has now reached “primary” completion, which means that 67,000 homes and businesses (around 85% of the city) can now access gigabit speeds.

Netomnia – supported by UK broadband ISP YouFibre – has confirmed that they’ve begun to build their new 10Gbps capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) network in the Cambridgeshire town of St Neots (England) and the town of Falkirk (Scotland). Services have also started to go live in Bridgend, Hamilton and Lancaster.

Rural focused UK ISP County Broadband has announced a major £100 million funding boost from existing backer Aviva Investors, which will enable them to target their gigabit-capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) network to cover 500,000 premises across the East of England by the end of 2027.

Rural focused UK ISP County Broadband (CB) has today added 21 villages in Cambridgeshire (England) to their multi-million-pound rollout of a new gigabit-capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) network. All of the new villages are located within the St Neots and Huntingdon areas.

The previous offer of a £20K reward to help catch those responsible for a string of copper cable thefts in rural Cambridgeshire (England) has not been effective, yet. Openreach’s (BT) network in the county has again been hit by the crime, which saw 3.4km of underground cable stolen and broadband disrupted for 3,000 properties.

A string of damaging copper cable thefts in rural Cambridgeshire (England), which repeatedly knocked out broadband and phone services for hundreds of homes on Openreach’s (BT) network in the villages of Swavesey and Witchford, have resulted in the operator offering a reward of £20,000 to help catch those responsible.

CityFibre has today confirmed that they’re investing £5 million to extend their gigabit-capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) broadband ISP network to reach “thousands of premises” in the Cambridgeshire (England) town of March, which is currently home to over 22,000 people.

Broadband and phone services have been disrupted for a second time in the Witchford area of Cambridgeshire (England) after thieves caused “significant damage” by cutting through one of Openreach’s secure boxes. But it’s unclear what, if anything, was actually stolen as a result of this attack.

Around 1,000 premises in the Witchford and Ely area of Cambridgeshire (England) have been left without a fully working broadband ISP and phone connection after criminals ripped up and stole some of Openreach’s underground copper cables. Local residents have been told that the damage could take up to 14 days to fix.

UK ISP County Broadband, which is currently deploying a 1Gbps Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) service across rural parts of Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk in England, has today given itself a pat on the back after reporting a seven-fold (725%) increase in “business growth” (i.e. going from 16 employees in early 2018 to 116 now).
