CityFibre has today confirmed some details of their £20 million rollout plan for a new 1Gbps Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) broadband ISP network to homes and businesses in the large West Midlands (England) town of Solihull, which is home to 123,000 people. The first construction work is due to begin in April 2021.

Budget conscious broadband ISP TalkTalk has announced that their CityFibre based Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) packages have just been made available to homes in the Adur and Worthing area (West Sussex), which follows a similar announcement from rival Zen Internet in January 2021.

Alternative network builder CityFibre has today confirmed the full list of 285 UK cities, towns and villages where they plan to deploy their new 1Gbps capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTHP) broadband platform, which will work alongside ISPs like Vodafone and TalkTalk to cover 8 million homes and businesses. Rural areas will also benefit.

CityFibre UK has today issued some important progress updates on their plans to deploy a new 1Gbps Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) broadband ISP network to cover premises (homes and businesses) across the city of Glasgow (Scotland), and the towns of Cheltenham in Gloucestershire and Blackpool in Lancashire (England).

CityFibre has announced that they will invest an additional £1.5m to boost the coverage of their original £30m project in the Cambridgeshire city of Peterborough, which was one of their first deployments of a 1Gbps capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) broadband network with UK ISP partner Vodafone (plus TalkTalk).

Broadband ISP Zen Internet has just become the first provider to confirm that their residential service is now available to those covered by CityFibre’s new £80 million rollout of a 1Gbps capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) network in the East Midlands city of Leicester, which began last June 2020 (here).

Broadband ISP TalkTalk has today announced that they’ve started selling ‘Future Fibre‘ packages on Cityfibre’s new gigabit-speed capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) network in four UK cities and towns including Aberdeen, Bolton, Milton Keynes and Peterborough. Prices start at £32 per month for 147Mbps (symmetric).

CityFibre has confirmed to ISPreview.co.uk that their plan to rollout a new 1Gbps Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) based broadband ISP network across the Staffordshire city of Stoke-on-Trent, which was first announced almost year ago in March 2020, has been shelved. But they haven’t completely abandoned the idea.
