Otherwise prices for the service start from £15 inc. VAT a month.

ISP EE UK Nudges Past 694K Home Broadband and 318K 4G Customers

The latest Q1-2013 financial results from EE (Orange UK and T-Mobile) have revealed that their fixed line Home Broadband subscriber base increased by just +1,000 in the quarter to total 694,000, while their 4G (LTE) based mobile subscribers grew from zero to 318,000 in the first five months since its launch.

The UK Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has banned several ads for TalkTalk’s YouView TV product, which misleadingly described the set-top-box as being “free” despite a £50 install fee. The watchdog also banned an ad for T-Mobile’s (EE) £36 Full Monty Plan after it promoted “Unlimited internet” despite a Traffic Management policy.

Mobile operator EE (4GEE) has announced that it will double the amount of 1800MHz radio spectrum bandwidth dedicated to its 4G (LTE) based Mobile Broadband network (from 10MHz to 20MHz at each cell), which will boost network capacity and could deliver headline speeds of 80Mbps (average speeds of 20Mbps).

Telecoms operator EE has released its latest financial results to Q4-2012 and revealed that their fixed line Home Broadband subscriber base has suddenly declined to a total of 693,000 (down by -29,000 during Q4). RootMetrics has posted the results from 95,672 separate speedtests of EE’s new 4G (LTE 1800MHz) based Mobile Broadband network in the UK cities of Liverpool, Cardiff and Sheffield. The study found that EE was broadly living up to its promise of delivering internet speeds that range from 8-12Mbps (Megabits per second).
