ISP Entanet Offers 1Gbps Full Fibre Ethernet Burst for £199 +vat

Entanet has announced that businesses within reach of their parent company’s (Cityfibre) Dark Fibre network, which is present in parts of over 50 cities across the United Kingdom, can now order their Ethernet Flex service for just £199 +vat per month. This offers a guaranteed rate of 200Mbps (symmetric) but can burst to 1Gbps.

Openreach (BT) has begun encouraging ISPs to cancel “unwanted” orders for their high capacity Ethernet Access Direct (EAD) connectivity products, which they’ve defined as any orders that are taking longer than 90 days to deliver. Some might just call those “late“.

Broadband ISP Zen Internet says they’ve “permanently” reduced the price of their dedicated and fibre optic based Ethernet leased line data connectivity services for all businesses by up to 36%, which means that prices now start from just £230 +vat per month for 10Mbps and go up to £525 for 1Gbps.

North Wales Sets Out Gigabit Full Fibre Plan to Connect Public Sites

The North Wales Economic Ambition Board (NWEAB) has today set out its plan for investing up to £7m from Wave 3 of the UK Government’s Local Full Fibre Networks (LFFN) programme, which will see Gigabit capable fibre and “ultrafast broadband” services being used to connect up to 400 further public sector sites.

Infracapital Finish Buy of 50% Stake in SSE Enterprise Telecoms UK

Infracapital, which is the infrastructure equity investment arm of M&G Prudential, has this week completed its £380m acquisition of a 50% stake in UK fibre optic comms provider SSE Enterprise Telecoms. The initial £215m will be paid upon the completion and a further £165m via several instalments (subject to future performance).

Stoke-on-Trent Unveils £9.2m Citywide FTTP Ultrafast Broadband Plan

The City of Stoke-on-Trent in Staffordshire UK has announced that the £9.2m of public funding secured from the Government’s Local Full Fibre Networks (LFFN) programme will be used to “install ultrafast broadband across city” via a new 96km long “full fibre” (FTTP) network from Swedish operator VXFIBER.
