CityFibre UK Finish Primary £17m FTTP Broadband Rollout in Havant

Network operator CityFibre, which has so far built their 5.5Gbps speed Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) broadband ISP network to cover 4.4 million UK premises (4.3m RFS), has today confirmed the completion of their “primary” £17 million build across Havant in Hampshire (England), which included Westbourne and other surrounding areas.

Network operator CityFibre has today announced that the first customers have gone live on their new 10Gbps capable full fibre (FTTP) broadband ISP network in Hampshire (England), which is being built as part of their £104m state aid supported Project Gigabit contract (Lot 27) – this aims to reach more than 75,000 extra premises across hard-to-reach rural areas.

UK ISP Trooli to Shut BDUK Funded Hybrid Rural Broadband Network

Network operator and ISP Trooli (Call Flow) has confirmed to ISPreview that a small number of their customers are at risk of disconnection, which will occur when they shut one of their old hybrid wireless and fibre optic broadband networks in rural Hampshire (England). This was originally deployed around ten years ago with public funding (Building Digital UK).

For the second time this week (here), the Government (DSIT) has published another round of contract modification notices for several of Wildanet, Fibrus, CityFibre and Quickline’s state aid funded Project Gigabit broadband roll-outs across several regions – North Yorkshire, Cornwall, Cumbria, Suffolk, Hampshire and Norfolk. The Government’s Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) has published contract modification notices for CityFibre’s state aid funded Project Gigabit broadband roll-outs across four regions – Hampshire (Lot 27), Suffolk (Lot 2), Cambridgeshire (Lot 5) and Norfolk (Lot 7). The changes increase the level of committed public funding and often also the contracted scope.

Openreach Begins Main FTTP Broadband Build for Portsmouth UK

Network access provider Openreach (BT) has today announced that they’ve started to deploy their 1.8Gbps speed Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) based broadband ISP network across the south coast city of Portsmouth (Hampshire, UK), although it’s unclear exactly how many premises will benefit, but it is “expected to reach the majority” of properties.
