H2 2021 Test of 5G Speed in Coventry, Leeds and Bradford, Nottingham and Sheffield

Mobile benchmarking firm RootMetrics has today published the first H2 2021 results from their testing of 5G (mobile broadband) networks in the UK cities and towns of Coventry, Leeds and Bradford, Nottingham and Sheffield. EE delivered the fastest speed and availability in most of the locations, but not all.

Ookla Publish Latest UK 5G Mobile Broadband Speeds for Q1-Q2 2021

Ookla, which runs Speedtest.net, has today revealed more data about 5G mobile speeds and availability across the UK. Overall, the country delivered average (median) 5G download speeds of 167.38Mbps (15.91Mbps upload), but availability is still low at 10.2% (17.9% on EE, 10.3% on Vodafone, 6.4% on Three UK and 5.4% on O2).

SFO Probes O2 UK Over Violations of Anti-Bribery Laws and Regs

A major fire at Arqiva’s (Cellnex) 315 metre tall Bilsdale Transmitter site in North Yorkshire (England) has knocked out TV and radio services for more than 1 million surrounding premises. On top of that, mobile (2G, 3G and 4G) services from O2, EE, Three UK and Vodafone have also been disrupted.
