The Broadband Delivery UK team have just published a new batch of Public Reviews (PR) and Open Market Reviews (OMR) for additional parts of England – mostly covered by Phase 2 of the Government’s £5bn Project Gigabit broadband rollout. Both aim to identify which areas need state aid support for future builds.

Broadband network builder FullFibre Limited, which aims to extend their gigabit speed Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) network for UK ISPs to cover at least 500,000 premises by 2025 (here), has partnered up with the Kickstart Scheme to create 10 new job opportunities for 16-24 year-olds within their company.

Network builder FullFibre Limited has announced that their new gigabit-capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) broadband ISP network has started to be deployed across the first areas of the North Midlands, with construction starting in the Staffordshire town of Leek. The neighbouring town of Cheadle will follow next week.

Network builder FullFibre Limited has today named the next batch of 19 towns in England to benefit from their rollout of a new gigabit speed Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) broadband ISP network, which recently hit a build rate of 15,000 UK premises per month and aims to cover “at least” 500,000 premises by 2025.

Shropshire-based UK ISP Exascale has confirmed that the first customers on their new gigabit-capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) broadband network in the large West Midlands market town of West Bromwich have finally started to connect, which follows the start of their local rollout (here) in February 2021.

UK ISP Zzoomm has today confirmed that their new 10Gbps capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) broadband network will next be expanded into the Berkshire (England) towns of Sandhurst and Crowthorne. The rollout is expected to cover 10,500 homes and businesses in the two locations.

The state aid supported Superfast Staffordshire project, which is working with Openreach (BT) to extend the local coverage of “superfast broadband” (30Mbps+) services, has today announced the completion of its contract. As a result of the rollout more than 97% of local homes and businesses can now order such speeds from an ISP.

Residents in the Staffordshire (England) city of Stoke-on-Trent have been venting their anger at VXFIBER‘s subsidiary LilaConnect, which occured after the local rollout of a new 1Gbps Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) network caused a number of problems – from damaged driveways to cut broadband and electricity cables etc.

UK ISP Zzoomm has today revealed that their new 10Gbps capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) broadband network will shortly be expanding into Staffordshire (England), specifically thousands of homes and businesses within the town of Cannock, which is home to a local population of c.30,000.

A further 5,400 homes in the Staffordshire (England) market town of Burton upon Trent have now gained access to Virgin Media’s new Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) broadband network. The work reflects a second expansion after 14,000 premises were put within reach a few years ago (here), albeit mostly via their old coax network.
