Grayshott Gigabit Fibre Cable Drum on Rural Road

Back in the Spring we reported (here) that a new Morden-based broadband ISP called Grayshott Gigabit had been setup with the goal of rolling out a new gigabit-capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) network across rural areas in the East Hampshire, Surrey Hills and surrounding areas. Happily, the build is now well underway.

Broadband ISP Trooli, which is building a new gigabit-capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) network across parts of South and South East England, has signed one of the first long-term Joint User Pole (JUP) agreements with UK Power Networks. The move will enable them to run their fibre optic cables across certain low voltage electricity poles.

Broadband ISP Trooli, which is currently deploying a new gigabit-capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) network across parts of Kent, Hampshire, Suffolk, Surrey, Berkshire, Wiltshire and Sussex, has secured a £67.5m senior debt facility via a consortium of commercial lenders to help them reach 1 million UK premises by 2024.

London-focused broadband ISP CommunityFibre, which has so far covered 300,000 homes (plus 12,000 businesses) with their 3Gbps Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) network, look set to expand outside the UK’s capital city and into parts of Surrey and West Sussex in England with today’s acquisition of Box Broadband.

Portsmouth-based UK ISP toob has announced that they’ve begun the deployment of a new gigabit-capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) broadband network in the Hampshire (England) town of Aldershot, which should ultimately see their service being extended to cover 23,000 premises.

Rural focused UK broadband ISP Gigaclear has been spotted deploying their Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) network infrastructure into the large Surrey village of Bagshot (population 5,600), which appears to be somewhat of a first for the provider as they haven’t previously announced much for the county.

Portsmouth-based UK ISP toob, which is deploying a new 1Gbps Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) broadband network to homes and businesses in the South of England (e.g. Hampshire and Surrey), has signed a new deal to harness the existing optical fibre infrastructure from Neos Networks to boost their rollout.

UK ISP Hey! Broadband (F&W Networks) has confirmed to ISPreview.co.uk that they’re now deploying their new 10Gbps capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) broadband network to cover the historic market town and civil parish of Godalming in Surrey, which is home to around 22,000 people.

UK ISP toob has appointed Trenches Law to be its telecoms law partner to help boost their latest £8m project in the Surrey (England) towns of Camberley and Frimley (here), which is expected to extend their 1Gbps Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) broadband network to over 20,000 premises by the end of 2022.

A long-running problem on Virgin Media’s broadband ISP network in Long Ditton, a residential suburb in the Borough of Elmbridge (Surrey, UK), has resulted in such slow speeds that some customers have resorted to unusual fixes, such as parking on neighbours driveways to borrow WiFi or returning to the office instead of working from home.
