Broadband ISP Swish Fibre, which is currently building a new Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) broadband network to cover 250,000 premises across the Home Counties of England, has moved to match B4RN’s example (here) by conducting a real-world speed test of their XGSPON based platform – hitting 7.68Gbps download.

New ISP Swish Fibre, which last year began work to extend their 10Gbps capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) broadband network to cover 250,000 premises across the Home Counties (i.e. just outside London), has today unveiled a full list of 33 poorly served towns (22 new additions) where their service is due to be rolled out next.

A new UK ISP called Box Broadband has recently entered the market and they’re working to build a Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) based network to connect rural homes and businesses around Surrey (Surrey Hills), which in the future could be followed by similar areas in West Sussex and Hampshire (England).

The Superfast Surrey project in England has revealed that an additional 6,000 homes and businesses in the region are next in line to gain access to an FTTC/P based “superfast broadband” (24Mbps+) network from Openreach (BT), which will take place over the next two years.
