Xwavia Deploys Superfast Wireless Broadband to Conwy in Wales UK

As promised Xwavia (formerly eXwavia), fresh from its somewhat controversial injection of new investment by the Welsh Government (here), has confirmed the deployment of its 10-100Mbps capable wireless broadband network into the market town of Conwy on the north coast of Wales.

The Welsh Government, as part of its work to identify areas of Wales which do not currently benefit from superfast broadband and won’t do so under the existing Superfast Cymru roll-out with BT, has launched a new online survey that seeks responses from suppliers, the Welsh public and businesses. The WG has also uploaded new state aid broadband coverage maps and postcode data.

Welsh Wireless Broadband ISP Xwavia Secures £1.2m Finance Wales Loan

Powys-based wireless broadband ISP eXwavia Xwavia has, following last month’s report by ISPreview.co.uk (here), confirmed that they’ve secured an investment of £1.2 million from Finance Wales to help make faster Internet connectivity available to more rural parts of Wales in the United Kingdom. The first areas to benefit will be in Conwy.

Wales Audit Office to Review Superfast Cymru Broadband Deployment

The Wales Audit Office (WAO) has confirmed that it intends to conduct an audit of the Superfast Cymru scheme, which aims to make BT’s faster “fibre broadband” (FTTC/P) speeds of up to 80Mbps available to 96% of Welsh premises by the end of spring 2016.
