Zzoomm Street Works FTTP

UK ISP Zzoomm has revealed that they’re expanding the rollout of their new gigabit-capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) broadband network further south to include the county of Wiltshire (England). The first location to benefit from this will be the town and civil parish of Calne.

Broadband ISP Lit Fibre, which aims to cover 500,000 UK homes by 2026 with their new gigabit-capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) network, has today added three new towns in England to their rollout programme – Chipping Sodbury and Yate in South Gloucestershire and Warminster in Wiltshire.

Network operator and UK ISP Giganet has confirmed that their rollout of a new gigabit-capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) broadband network has begun to be extended into the two Wiltshire (England) market towns and civil parishes of Marlborough and Devizes, which will benefit 21,500 homes at a cost of around £23m.

The Swindon Borough Council has confirmed that “all works” by CityFibre, which is currently investing £40m to deploy a new 1Gbps capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) broadband ISP network across the Wiltshire town, will be “inspected for defects shortly“. The move was prompted by “numerous” complaints.

Openreach Engineers Repair Storm Damage 2022

The Wiltshire Council (WC) in England has apologised to residents of around 100 homes in the rural villages of Ablington and Figheldean after their contractors accidentally cut one of Openreach’s (BT) core broadband and phone cables, which has left locals disconnected for much of the past week.

CityFibre’s existing £40m project to deploy a 1Gbps capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) broadband network across the Wiltshire town of Swindon, which began in late 2020 (here), has been boosted by a new deal with the Swindon Borough Council (SBC). As a result, the network will be expanded to include 10,000 council managed homes.
