Dorset-based UK ISP Wessex Internet, which is currently rolling out a new gigabit-capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) broadband network across parts of South and South West England (mostly Dorset, Wiltshire and South Somerset), has today appointed Geraint Evans to be its new Chief Technical Officer (CTO).
Geraint is said to be bringing over 30 years of experience in network architecture, implementation and operations to the post. Most recently he spent 8 years at Arqiva, where he helped to deliver a major UK wide fibre network to support the transmission of analogue and digital radio and TV signals.
The new role has been created to as part of the company’s strategy to accelerate the rollout of its full fibre network – it follows the appointment of Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Rob Dawson, in June 2021.
