The SIM-Only mobile provider Spusu, which holds a virtual operator (MVNO) agreement to harness EE’s 4G and 5G (mobile broadband) network, has today announced that they’ve reached a key milestone by growing to total 150,000 active subscribers in less than three years since launch in the UK.

The UK has one of the most competitive telecoms markets in the world, which makes reaching over 150,000 active subscribers especially significant,” said Christian Banhans, MD of spusu. “It’s a testament to the trust customers are placing in us and proves the strong demand for challenger brands like spusu that focus on fairness, service quality and simplicity, rather than complicated tariffs.”

The provider is now looking to expand their customer service team and has just acquired a second London office to help cope with demand.

And yet they are still under staffed in the HQ. Chats take 13 hours to respond. No support over night either.

Found the same, but still way better than useless foreign support in O2 where I moved from to Spusu.

When you are paying bargain basement prices can you reasonably expect 24/7 support? Plus, how often do you need to ring your mobile supplier at 4am?

Phoned to give them a PAC last week.
Answered the phone in a matter of seconds.
Totally different to trying to cancel Virgin Media

I’m sure the Virgin Media sales department would also answer the phone in a couple of seconds. Just like anyone else’s sales department. So before you switch provider, it’s always a good idea to try ringing their regular customer support.

Moved 3 numbers over to them, 1 was for a screen in a car, initially they said this would work then when it didn’t they said only hand held units. Whatsapp is slow but phone it pretty quick and local. Seem to get better 5G than when I was with EE direct. Prices are very competitive.

its a terrible network but i use it in a dual sim setup. you can get those o2 PAYG sims that only need to be topped up like £10 once a year and you only need to make a call once every 6 months to keep it active.

I have that as my main number and incoming calls number.

the spuspu deal at £3 a month for unlimited calls / 2gb of data, thats my outbound calls and data usage provider.

it works reasonably well but lots of times i have issues with outbound calls. if its somewhere important i’ll call via the o2 PAYG sim but that has crazy pricing on calls.

i really wish they’d fix their network. lots of issues with it with calls.

Only Lyca was worse than Lebara.

Still no HD voice on Spusu, I would imagine the users on Spusu are only concerned with cheap service and wouldn’t know any better

Depends on your handset. Works fine on my Pixel 9
