Internet access provider Zzoomm, which is now part of the recently merged FTTP broadband network from FullFibre Limited (here), has today become the latest alternative network ISP to launch a live TV, streaming, and cloud gaming service via Netgem TV‘s new IPTV set-top-box and streaming platform – PLEIO.
Netgem TV has already announced that a number of altnet providers are carrying PLEIO (here) and Zzoomm is the latest to join that list. Zzoomm TV will first launch “exclusively” to existing Zzoomm broadband customers. As a Zzoomm broadband customer, they won’t pay the full standard price of £10 a month as they’ll receive a 25% loyalty discount.
Zzoomm customers who pre-register will also benefit from an early bird launch incentive. Customers who sign up at launch will pay just £5 a month for the first 6 months, before moving to the discounted loyalty price of £7.50 a month. To join the waitlist customers can visit https://zzoomm.com/tv-pre-registration.

Francesca Lee, Chief Revenue Officer at Zzoomm, said:
“Households are under more pressure than ever, and customers deserve greater choice, flexibility and value for money. Zzoomm TV brings together live TV, streaming and gaming in one place without forcing customers to pay for what they don’t need. Combined with our full fibre network, Zzoomm TV is another step forward in delivering our brand values: better products, better service, and better value, challenging the status quo of both broadband and now traditional pay-TV.”
Alternatively, anybody can buy PLEIO at retail via Amazon for £99, which includes a 12-month subscription to their optional premium TV channels and cloud gaming service.

Just looked on Amazon, the one thing I did note was that the Pleio was getting substantially poorer reviews (3.9 stars) to the Manhattan Aero (4.7 stars). Now if only Manhattan could sort out supply issues…..
Big Dave,
If you pay attention to the content of the reviews, you’ll see that most of the PLEIO unfavorable reviews mention that the product is expensive compared to the Aero, and that if it didn’t have the additional cost of the game controller and the extra channels beyond the free ones from FreeView, the reviews would be superior!
Therefore, a buyer who do not wants to play, will always have the feeling that is paying for something unnecessary!
e.g. “The game controller is a waste of money as I am sure most people will never use it.”
The game controller and price aren’t the reason I’ve seen for bad reviews. The latest 2 reviews carry the headline “Disappointed, stopped working unable to return” and “Avoid. Defective hardware and a buggy mess”.
Oh good grief, just concentrate on broadband, that is what they need to do, not muck around with other rubbish.
One of the reason I stayed away from providers like BT, EE and Sky is because all I want is connection to the net, that is it.
No email services, no TV services or any other services, just a way to get me to connect to the net.
Oh well it is done now, as long as they take the hint that i am not interested.
I don’t watch normal TV, I don’t have a licence and not interested in live TV.
To be honest, I really don’t see the point in the Pleio, unless someone is interested in the games or for some reason they can’t get Freeview.
Does this even make sense?!
Most people already have proper TVs with apps – they’re on individual subs or Sky’s all-in-one thing, which to be fair Sky do whack prices up. And gaming?! Come on, it’s not beating Xbox, PS5 or a Switch, is it?
The household cost thing just… doesn’t add up? Owned Smart TV = loads of free stuff already. So you’re paying (a discounted) £7.50 a month AND still paying for Netflix or whatever on top??
And you could own it for £99 instead of indefinite rental?
If it is just for the puck or whatever they call it then no, don’;t make sense at all. But if it includes subscription of services, then depending on what they are and if it all work out cheaper, then maybe.
This is what they do when they run out of ideas, then they start flogging other operators products for pennies of margin
