Sky Mobile UK Give FREE Global Roaming in 120 Destinations to Loyal Users

Good news if you’re one of Sky Mobile’s most “most loyal customers” as the UK mobile operator has this morning promised to give you “free global roaming” across 120 destinations (this normally costs an extra £2 a day when abroad using Sky’s Roaming Passport Plus). But you’ll need to have been with Sky for quite a few years to benefit.

Like many internet and TV providers, Sky operates a rewards scheme called Sky VIP, which typically offers special discounts, gifts and events access to existing customers. The expanded roaming feature is, however, only being handed out for free to Sky VIP Diamond customers (those who’ve been with Sky for over 15 years – measured using all of their products).

Sky says they have millions of customers who fall into this category and they’ll now be able to use their Sky Mobile data (mobile broadband), calls and text allowances abroad all over the world, just as they would in the UK, “at no extra cost“. Take note that a Fair Usage Policy (FUP) does apply to roaming data, which usually caps it at 25GB or less if your UK package has a smaller allowance.

“We’re giving our longest-standing Sky customers free global roaming in 120 destinations with Sky Mobile – it’s another way we’re recognising loyalty with rewards that matter. Whether in Chile or China, South Korea or South Africa, Sky VIP Diamond customers will now stay connected at no extra cost.”

The new VIP benefit applies to any Sky VIP Diamond customer either currently with, or newly joining Sky Mobile, and works with all data plans. Sky VIP Diamond tier customers who already have Sky Mobile can start using free global roaming from today. Diamond customers who don’t have Sky Mobile can join by texting PAC to 65075 to get a switching code to move their number over to Sky and as a reward for their loyalty, they can get an unlimited data plan with a new SIM for just £10 per month on a 12-month contract, instead of the current new Sky customer price of £20 per month.
