Zen Internet expand Wi-Fi 7 routers and launch 2.5Gbps broadband via MS3’s UK fibre
Rochdale-based UK ISP Zen Internet, which began selling packages via MS3’s full fibre (FTTP) network in parts of Hull (East Yorkshire) and Lincolnshire in June 2026, has now revealed that they’ve made even faster speeds of 2.5Gbps (2.3Gbps average) available to new residential and business customers covered by the network. Separately, more of Zen’s packages now include Wi-Fi 7 routers as standard.
The new top package is currently priced from £45 per month on a 24-month term (£54 thereafter), which includes symmetric speeds of 2.3Gbps (average), free installation, a pledge of no mid-contract price hikes, a Wi-Fi 7 router and an included static IP address. The new package is particularly interesting because, if you live in Hull, you can now get a much faster package than local incumbent KCOM are able to offer and for less money.
The development also comes shortly after Zen Internet quietly, and separately, made Amazon’s eero 7 routers the standard kit on their Full Fibre 500Mbps and Full Fibre 900Mbps packages (replacing their previous FRITZ!Box routers), which followed a similar change on their Full Fibre Max package last month. This applies to all of their full fibre networks (e.g. Openreach, CityFibre and more) and not only packages sold via MS3.

Regular readers might recall that, until recently, it was previously only possible to get Amazon’s eero Pro 6E router on Zen’s residential broadband services above 1Gbps, with the option for customers to upgrade to the eero Max 7. But last month they changed the eero Pro 6E for the eero 7 (‘Max’ is still a paid upgrade) and now that’s been extended to more packages.
The catch is that while eero routers are reasonable bits of kit and easy for ISPs to manage, they do tend to lack some features that more advanced users tend to seek (e.g. only two Ethernet ports on the back). Not all such customers have deep enough pockets to afford to buy a better third-party device, so this can sometimes act as a discouragement.

That EERO router is pants set up and config is only possible VIA a SMART /Spy phone,m and it only has 2 LAN ports and 2.5GBPS IS POINTLESS ON A SUB 1GB PRODUCT
Not really pointless though is it. Means you don’t have to replace the eero if you upgrade in future, which is ultimately lower costs and less waste. Also means you have more capacity on your LAN.
As per the article, eero might not be the router for everyone – especially if you’re a little more techy or like to tweak with settings etc. But they’re fast, reliable, look good and have great smart home capabilities. They no doubt fit Zen’s customers well.
I’m on Zen’s 1.6G OpenReach product and was given the Eero 6 with 1 x 2.5G and 1 X 1G Ethernet sockets. So the only way to get faster than 1G speeds was via WiFi which is terrible, and I told them as much when I joined. With this news, I contacted Zen again, only to be told I would have to pay an extra £10 a month to get a Eero 7 to achieve the speeds they say I can get via Ethernet. I’m not happy.
BTW I have a Unifi UDM-Pro SE which stuggles to do anything more than 1.2G PPPoE and I use this as its still faster then the Eero 6.
