Internet Central Brings 40Mbps Wireless Broadband to Cheshire and Staffordshire

Wednesday, Mar 14th, 2012 (1:22 pm) - Score 3,435

UK ISP Internet Central (IC) has launched a new superfast wireless (WiFi) broadband service called IC-air, which offers download speeds of up to 40Mbps (Megabits per second) to homes and businesses in the North Staffordshire and South Cheshire areas.

IC has said that they are working with local community groups, regional agencies and could enable others areas of interest through joint projects.

Maitland Hyslop, IC’s Managing Director, said (ThisisStaffordshire):

This really is the next generation of broadband delivery and means that people living and working within this wide ranging area can easily and effectively tap into a high speed internet connection. The new service will enable users to work faster and smarter and is also ideal for rural areas where existing cable infrastructure is poor.”

After a little bit of digging ISPreview.co.uk discovered that the service offered download speeds of between 10Mbps to 40Mbps, with prices starting at just £12.49 per month. We also found a description of IC-air’s current coverage, which has been listed below.
