UK ISP FidoNet Offers 6 Months 80Mbps Superfast Broadband for FREE

Monday, Jun 11th, 2012 (11:53 am) - Score 878

Business focused internet provider FidoNet has today launched a surprisingly good promotion that offers 6 months of free superfast broadband, half price installation (i.e. £50 +vat), free SIP account and a free wireless router (wifi) to new customers.

The promotion is apparently designed to help celebrate Fido’s recent nomination for Best Large Business Hosting and Best Business Fixed Broadband provider at the forthcoming 2012 ISPA Awards (winners will be announced on 3rd July 2012 at the Park Lane Sheraton Hotel in London).

FidoNet’s Special Offer Packages

Low User 16 (Normal Price £15 +vat Per Month)
Download Speeds up to 16Mbps (1Mbps upload)
Usage Allowance: 10GB

Basic 40 (Normal Price £25 +vat Per Month)
Download Speeds up to 40Mbps (2Mbps upload)
Usage Allowance: 50GB

Standard 80 (Normal Price £35 +vat Per Month)
Download Speeds up to 80Mbps (10Mbps upload)
Usage Allowance: 100GB

Enhanced 80 (Normal Price £55 +vat Per Month)
Download Speeds up to 80Mbps (20Mbps upload)
Usage Allowance: 250GB

It goes without saying that such a promotion would be economically difficult for most ISPs to achieve (especially on the ‘Enhanced 80’ package), although Fido have confidently informed ISPreview.co.uk that this offer is indeed available on “every product” and new customers merely need to reference the offer code “newco1” to take advantage. Customers will also get a £50 Google Adwords Voucher to help promote their business online.

Each package comes with an 18 month contract and the offer itself is only available / valid for June and July 2012, after that any new customers will not be able to get the discount. In addition there’s no requirement to have Line Rental with Fido (e.g. it can stay with BT), although if you do then Fido also offer this from £13.75 pcm +vat. Take note that the offer is not available to customers still stuck on BT’s older 20CN platform (mostly the last 10% of UK rural areas).
