ISPreview.co.uk has today completed a big update for all of the internet providers in our database and also added a new Superfast Broadband category to our UK ISP Listings system. Furthermore we’ve revamped the listings front page to display more information and be friendlier to Tablet users.
In addition to the above changes we’ve split both the new Superfast and older Standard Broadband ISP listing categories into two sub-sections, one of which defaults to listing the Cheapest package from each ISP and the other to listing Premium packages (i.e. packages that usually cost around £20-£30 per month). This is easier on the eye than sticking both on a single package as we did before.
On top of that we’ve introduced a number of new ISP List ordering features to the main fixed-line categories (we’ll add it to the other categories later), which will allow you to order the list by more than ISP name and price. This is a lot simpler than having to visit the separate search pages in order to perform the same task (we’ve always meant to do this but only recently found the time).
Sadly we cannot list every package for each ISP because we try to cover all 200+ consumer providers and, for a free site like ours, it would be an almost impossible task to keep everything up to date if we did them all. By comparison most commercial comparison websites list only the largest 6 to 10 ISPs, which makes life a lot easier for them.

As a side note, the new superfast broadband listings have been roughly categorised to only include ISPs that offer packages capable of delivering download speeds above 25-30Mbps. We originally didn’t like the idea of a “superfast” section because definitions have a habit of changing with time, although quite a few readers requested it and thus we’ve responded.
It should be said that ISPreview.co.uk constantly work to keep our listings system up-to-date, although every few months we do a full update to make sure that all packages and prices are kept fully in sync. This is because many ISPs do not publicise or inform us directly about their package changes.

UPDATE 1st August 2012
Sorry all. In our rush to upload the changes we somehow left out the detail pages for the Satellite and Wireless ISP categories. Not quite sure how we managed to miss that but it’s corrected now.
