Media giant Sky Broadband (BSkyB) has extended its online-only 6 months free unlimited broadband with free evening and weekend UK landline calls bundle, which includes a £25 Marks and Spencer’s Voucher, for another month. But price hikes are coming.
New customers will also have to take Sky Line Rental at £12.25 a month and a 12 month contract also applies. Sadly this promotion is only available on their standard unlimited broadband packages and not the newer superfast Sky Fibre Unlimited service. You do not need a Sky TV package for this bundle, although those do start at £21.50 a month (broadband, tv and calls) if you want one.

Sky’s Unlimited Broadband and Calls Package
* Up to 14Mbps “typical” download speeds (20Mbps max)
* Truly unlimited usage
* Inclusive evening and weekend UK calls
* Free Sky Wireless ‘N’ Router
* Free Unlimited access to WiFi Hotspots from The Cloud
* Free 12 month trial of McAfee Internet Security SuitePRICE: £10 Per Month (FREE for the First 6 Months)
The above service is only available on Sky’s unbundled (LLU) broadband platform, which covers 83% of the UK population but will be extended to 88% by June 2013. Separately, as we first reported two months ago, Sky’s Price Freeze promise is also about to end.
As a result the cost of Sky Line Rental will increase on 1st September 2012 from £12.25 to £14.50 a month. Secondly, Sky Talk Freetime will be withdrawn from sale on 27th August 2012 and replaced with a new product called Sky Talk Weekends (i.e. free weekend calls to UK landlines instead of weekend and evenings). Neither of these changes will impact existing customers, thus if you’re planning to get Sky then order now before the changes hit.
The 6 months free promotion will be available until September 27th 2012, while the included £25 M&S voucher will only be on offer until August 30th 2012.
