The Post Office has informed ISPreview.co.uk of their intention to freeze the price of Home Broadband and Phone (Line Rental) services for “at least” the next 12 months, which is a direct response to BT’s recently announced 6% price hike that will take effect from 5th January 2013.
The new Price Guarantee is said to ensure that the operator won’t increase their related prices before October 2013 and also coincides with the current offer of 6 months free Anytime UK Calls for new home phone and broadband bundle subscribers (available until 14th October 2012).

Unfortunately the Post Office’s top ADSL based broadband speeds are still somewhat poor compared with the wider market. However the forthcoming £500m network migration deal, which will see customers swapped from the ISPs old BT based platform and on to a new TalkTalk and Fujitsu network (here), should eventually deliver faster and more flexible packages.
