LN Communications (I Love Broadband) has announced that the North Yorkshire (England, UK) communities of Kettlewell, Starbotton and Buckden can now access faster wireless broadband speeds of more than 20Mbps (Megabits per second).
The development is part of a wider project, which also involves Connecting North Yorkshire (CNY), that was first announced in February 2012 (here). The scheme is intended to help communities across Upper Wharfedale and Littondale gain access to faster broadband via wireless technologies.

Carl Les, CNY’s Chairman, said (Feb 2012):
“The core of the scheme through Threshfield, Conistone, Kilnsey, Kettlewell, Starbotton, Buckden, Cray, Hubberholme, Yockenthwaite, Beckermonds and Oughtershaw is confirmed [but] we still need more people to sign up in the Littondale communities including Hawkswick, Arncliffe, Litton, Halton Gill and Foxup.”
Under the original plan a fibre optic connection would be run all the way to Kettlewell Primary School, which could then act as a wireless hub for distributing faster internet access out to the surrounding villages.
Related packages from ISP I Love Broadband start at just £12.99 per month for a 5Mbps symmetric service (10GB usage allowance) for home users and go up to £23.99 for those desiring the top solution with “unlimited” usage (fair use policy).
