Xchanging, a business procurement and technology services provider, has started to roll-out a new FREE wireless internet (wifi) service in the City of London. The new network “is not password protected” and can apparently be used by anyone.
The official press release, which has reached our inbox a few days late, is a little thin on detail but it does state that the first installation will take place at 34, Leadenhall Street. Additional installations are set to follow at Lloyd’s and the London Underwriting centre “later this year“, with more to follow.
Geoff Kennard, Xchanging’s Electronic Services Director, said:
“The launch of Wi-Fi in the City is an important step to help the insurance market in modernising its processes, while simultaneously maintaining crucial face-to-face contact. Xchanging is investing in new innovations but it is also investing in existing technologies such as Wi-Fi to help the market make the most of the tools it already has.”
That’s all.
