Budget internet provider TalkTalk has released its latest Q2-2013 results today, which saw them add another +8,000 broadband subscribers (down from 10k in Q1-2013) to total 4,071,000 customers. The number of consumers taking their Superfast Fibre (FTTC) product also grew by a steady +22k in the quarter to 95,000.
Overall a further 74 telephone exchanges were also unbundled (LLU) from BT’s telecoms network (total 2,798). As a result some 95% of TalkTalk’s customers now use their cheaper unbundle broadband and phone services (MPF and SMPF), with 82% on fully unbundled (MPF) lines. Meanwhile just 177,000 remain on their BT based platform (down from 193k in Q1)

On top of that the ISPs new YouView (IPTV) based “Plus TV” service bundle has increased its growth by reaching 390,000 subscribers, which is a huge increase from 230,000 in Q1-2013.

Nine months after launching TalkTalk TV on the YouView platform, we are delighted with our progress in building a great, value-for-money TV business. We are reiterating our full year financial guidance and remain confident about delivering our medium-term financial targets of revenue and margin growth.”
Meanwhile total revenue decreased from £427m in Q1-2013 to £421m now, although churn fell from 1.5% to 1.4% in the quarter.
