UK ISP TalkTalk Confirms Imminent Broadband and Phone Price Hikes

Thursday, August 1st, 2013 (12:59 pm) - Score 987

It’s that time of the year again. Budget ISP TalkTalk has just confirmed that the standard price of its broadband and phone line rental service (outside of discounts) are set to rise once again from 1st October 2013, which will bring some of their costs into line with BT.

The first big change is in line rental, which will rise from £14.95 a month now to £15.40. But we note that there’s no mention of a rise for TalkTalk’s Value Line Rental option, which costs the equivalent of £9.50 a month when paid 12 months in advance (total £114).

Similarly the ISPs entry-level Essentials unlimited broadband and free weekend/evening calls package will increase from £6.50 today to £7.50 a month.

The following legacy packages will all go up by £1:

* Talk Global Anytime
* Talk Global Evening & Weekend
* Talk UK Weekend BB
* Talk International Anytime
* Talk International Evening & Weekend
* Talk Total Anytime Evening & Weekend
* Talk Total Anytime
* Talk 3 BB
* Talk International Evening & Weekend IPS
* Talk International Anytime IPS

General price amendments:

* Anytime UK calls boost will cost £5.50
* Call connection fee will cost 15p
* UK daytime rate will be 9p per minute
* UK mobile rate will cost a flat 12p per minute at any time of the day

The ISPs Non-Geographic call rates will also change and you can find more details about those on their website.
