Wireless ISP Connexin, which last year won the Hull City Council contract to install a 100Mbps capable wireless broadband network around the East Yorkshire city of Hull (England), could soon extend their network further afield.
Under the agreement Connexin were allowed to deploy their superfast wifi network by installing access points on top of high-rise buildings across the city. The service now covers nearly all of the homes and businesses in Hull, although they’ve so far only managed to attract “hundreds of homeowners and businesses“. Never the less there are plans to expand.

Furqan Alamgir, Connexin’s Managing Director, said (Hull Daily Mail):
“This is a modern way of doing things. You don’t need wires to carry the internet at high speed. Customers can download a movie in minutes and a song in seconds.
As well as that, we give a lot of upload speed so people can create content and contribute to the internet.”
It’s understood that work to expand the network’s reach will take place in the coming months and further details are expected to surface in the not too distant future.
