The state aid supported £20.75m Superfast Worcestershire (England) project has published a new map that shows BT’s anticipated deployment of superfast broadband (25Mbps+) around the county, which aims to expand the reach of its FTTC/P network to 90% of local homes and businesses by mid-2016.
As usual the map is only indicative and more is expected to be known once BTOpenreach has completed its 6-9 month long engineering survey, which means that we should start to get an idea of the initial rollout locations around spring 2014. Overall the project aims to help connect 55,000 premises that might have otherwise been left neglected.

It should be said that the Pathfinder Wireless Broadband element on the map is a reference to Airband’s effort to deploy an up to 50Mbps capable service in 14 of Worcestershire’s parish communities, although the council recently and quite controversially gave permission for BT to overbuild this (here).
