Existing customers of EE’s mobile network, including T-Mobile and Orange UK subscribers, can now take their fixed line unlimited Home Broadband (up to 17Mbps) and free calls package from just £2 per month for the first 12 months (plus line rental from £11 pre-paid or £15.40 monthly).
The latest offer represents a slight discount from the previous price of £3 a month for 12 months, which in both cases reflects a reduction on EE’s standard charge of £6 per month. But in order to get this this you have to be an existing mobile customer and everybody else will pay an extra £10 per month or more if they’re not covered by EE’s low cost area (i.e. rural areas tend to pay a few pounds extra).

The package also comes with a 12 month contract, free weekend calls to UK landlines (anytime calls and mobile calls cost extra and don’t benefit from the 12 month discount period), a free BrightBox wireless router, free installation, 12 months of McAfee internet security, access to the online EE Film streaming service and 2 for 1 cinema tickets every Wednesday.
The new promotion will be live until 31st March 2014. We also note that their ‘up to’ download speed has increased to 17Mbps from 16Mbps, although it’s still the same ADSL2+ technology so this is all about marketing and you shouldn’t expect a faster connection than before.
