Residents and businesses in the South Yorkshire (England) town of Doncaster now have the option of going online via Quickline’s “AIRFibre” wireless broadband network, which has just become available in the area.
The domestic AIRFibre Home service offers “unlimited” usage and download speeds of between 8-25Mbps (10Mbps uploads) from £27.50 per month (£195 installation, includes wireless router), although it can also be purchased on a pay-as-you-go basis without a monthly fee (i.e. Day Pass £5.00, Week Pass £15.00 and Monthly Pass £30.00).

Quickline Statement
“The latest tranche of private investment means that Quickline is transforming the way people live and work with super-fast broadband, especially in rural areas, where traditional telecoms companies are currently unable to reach.
With a combination of high-speed fibre and over-the-air technologies, implementation of the new mast means that Doncaster and surrounding areas now has access to a true alternative internet service with speeds up to 40Mbps.”
According to Ofcom, some 76.10% of Doncaster is already served by a fixed line superfast broadband network (e.g. BT, Virgin Media etc.) and the average modem “sync” speed is a respectable 15.2Mbps. Hopefully Quickline has ensured that it already has enough interest in the area in order to sustain their investment.
