Business ISP Fluidata has signed a new deal to wholesale out access to ITS Technology Group’s “ultra high speed broadband infrastructure“, which include its networks in Hammersmith, Fulham and the Fibre Garden project in Cumbria (England).
The deal will make use of Fluidata’s Service Exchange Platform (SEP), which allows Internet providers to “accept, provision and deliver customer orders across additional infrastructure provider networks” via a special aggregated open access wholesale network that connects to more than 60 other ISPs.

Roy Shelton, ITS’ CEO, said:
“ITS’ core commitment is to delivering high speed broadband and additional services on a nationwide basis across our growing network. Working with Fluidata as a key partner will not only stimulate competition among ISPs, but will also deliver more choice to businesses and home owners. This will be particularly important when it comes to the so called ‘final third’, delivering semi-rural and rural services to those in notspot areas.”
Piers Daniell, Fluidata’s Managing Director, said:
“Currently the Service Exchange Platform is the largest of its kind with over 16 networks connecting into it. While many might foster direct relationships with some of the major carriers, the wide choice and comparison of networks available allows the customer to make an informed choice. We are delighted that ITS’ infrastructure will now be connected into this platform, offering an unrivalled choice. The work ITS is doing really ensures that customers have a genuine alternative to the larger incumbent providers.”
Fluidata claims that its solution gives businesses the opportunity to choose which ISP they would like to use and are not limited to one or two that may dominate the market in their region, “therefore creating a carrier competitive market place“.
