Wireless ISP Xwavia (formerly eXwavia) has confirmed plans to expand its operations with a redevelopment of their headquarters in Welshpool (Glansevern Hall), which will increase their site to 2,500 sq ft in size and benefit from 10 new staff.
The ISP, which recently expanded its broadband network into Conwy (here), is funding most of their on-going network expansion and development work through a controversial investment of £1.2 million by Finance Wales (here). The provider’s network infrastructure and capacity is also being upgraded through the new investment.

Mike Brown, CEO of Xwavia, said:
“We are thrilled to announce the expansion of our office in Welshpool, creating sustainable jobs in the area. Not only will the expansion help us connect people in hard-to-reach areas, but will also help the Welsh economy as businesses improve productivity, efficiency and competitiveness with the power of high-speed, reliable broadband.
Many areas in Wales have suffered with poor broadband speeds for too long. Our expansion will help us to reach even more people in Wales and help them enjoy the benefits of superfast broadband.”
Apparently the new jobs will include positions in the company’s engineering, customer services and sales departments. Some new network coverage plans are also expected to surface in the not too distant future.
