Customers of Vispa Internet have been informed that the ISP will be changing their Domain Name Servers (DNS) from the current ones (62.24.228.24 – 25) to a new set (83.217.161.161 – 162).
The DNS system works to convert IP addresses into human readable domain names (e.g. 123.56.32.1 to examplefake.com) and back again. Most of the time your ISP will run the DNS servers, but end-users can also access their own computers and routers to add custom domain name systems (e.g. OpenDNS or Google Public DNS).

Most consumers rarely need to worry about DNS servers because the addresses are usually assigned by the ISP and then updated automatically through your router, although there are some occasions where a network administrator may prefer to set such addresses manually and in that case related Vispa customers will need to be aware of this change.
In any case it’s not common for an ISP to change the IP addresses for its DNS servers and sadly Vispa has given no firm reason for their latest adjustment. The ISP had been going through a period of restructuring, although it’s not known if this is related to that.
The good news is that customers will have plenty of time to adapt. Apparently the current DNS servers will continue to work as normal until 31st January 2016. Thereafter 62.24.229.9 will be decommissioned on 1st February 2016 and 62.24.228.10 following shortly on 1st March 2016.
