The Virgin Media WiFi Buddy app, which works to auto-connect the operators Mobile customers to over 150,000 WiFi hotspots (including 22,000 UK hotspots from The Cloud and more than 20 million hotspots worldwide), has now been made available to iOS (iPhone, iPad etc.) devices as well as Android.
Funnily enough The Cloud’s WiFi hotspots, which are available in places and stores like M&S, WH Smith, Superdrug, Wetherspoon pubs, Pret A Manger, Caffé Nero, Wagamama, Pizza Express, KFC, plus selected shopping centres and train stations, are owned by Virgin Media’s arch rival Sky (Sky Broadband).

Mind you a quick look at some of the reviews for the existing app on the Google Play store (here) suggests that it might still be in need of some improvement, with users moaning about issues such as battery drain, problems auto logging into The Cloud’s hotspots and incorrect hotspot locations. Hopefully the iOS app will do a better job (here).
