UK ISP TalkTalk Reduces Unlimited Superfast Fibre Broadband Price

Wednesday, September 30th, 2015 (12:01 am) - Score 851

Low cost ISP TalkTalk will today reduce the cost of their ‘up to’ 38Mbps capable unlimited “Superfast Fibre Broadband” (FTTC) package to just £5 per month for the entire 18 month contract term (£17.50 per month thereafter). A free connection and “Super Router” are also included.

As usual the new offer, which will be available to order until 5th November 2015, also requires new customers to take TalkTalk’s Phone Line Rental from either £17.70 per month or the equivalent of £15.93 a month when pre-paid for a year in advance.

Elsewhere TalkTalk has tweaked their entry-level unlimited SimplyBroadband (up to 17Mbps) package to be free for the first 12 months of service (£7.50 per month thereafter), while their Essentials TV bundle (broadband, TV and calls) is now £7.50 a month for 6 months (£10 thereafter) and their top Plus TV package (broadband, free mobile SIM, premium TV and calls) costs £10 a month for 12 months (£20 thereafter). All must also be taken with line rental.

virgin media has announced their new broadband speeds a few hours ago. 70Mbps, 150Mbps and 200Mbps, no 300Mbps that was rumoured and the 2 lower tiers are slower than the 100 and 200 that was expected. No info about upload speeds yet.

What does that comment have to do with the Talk Talk story?

@hedges, when i posted that comment the virgin media news had not been posted on this site, i was trying to get the attention of the site owner.

  2. Well that is the final nail in the coffin for TalkTalk being able to claim they cannot make any money out of FTTC!

TalkTalk also dropped it’s speed of fibre, not just the price! Shocking ISP
