Customers of UK ISP Andrews & Arnold (AAISP), specifically those on their “units” based packages (this is a reflection of the data usage allowance), will once again benefit from extra data usage at no additional cost over the primary Christmas and New Year periods.
Apparently the three normal working days between Christmas and New Year will be a special rate that “consumes no units” regardless of the amount of usage. “That is 29th Dec, 30th Dec, and 31st Dec. The 26th Dec and 27th Dec being normal Weekend rates. The 25th Dec, 26th Dec, 1st Jan, and (for lines in Scotland) 2nd Jan, are the “Holiday” rate (same usage levels as weekends),” said a spokesperson for the ISP.
It’s worth pointing out that some other providers with capped packages may also announce similar changes for the period, although AAISP are the first to confirm their plans for the seasonal break. The only downside is that AAISP’s support lines will be closed for quite a few days, although this isn’t uncommon for smaller providers and other ISPs may also suffer from provisioning delays and staffing issues over the holiday period.
