It’s musical chairs day at Vodafone Group. The mobile operator has today replaced their UK CEO, Jeroen Hoencamp, with Group Enterprise Chief Executive, Nick Jeffery. Meanwhile Hoencamp has become CEO of both their Netherlands business and of the proposed Vodafone – Liberty Global joint venture in the same country.
We should say that Jeroen Hoencamp, who spent many years working within the Vodafone group before reaching this point (including several senior executive roles at its Netherlands division), has been in charge of Vodafone’s UK business since September 2013 and was previously CEO of Vodafone Ireland. In other words, he should be use to moving around a lot.

Meanwhile Nick Jeffery has been in his position at Vodafone Group Enterprise since January 2013 and was previously appointed as CEO of Cable & Wireless Worldwide after the company was acquired by Vodafone Group in 2012.
Both bosses will of course still have to report back to Vodafone Group’s Emperor CEO, Vittorio Colao. A successor to Nick Jeffery will be announced in due course and both of today’s EU focused appointments should then become effective from 1st September 2016.
Vittorio Colao, CEO of the Vodafone Group, said:
“Jeroen and Nick are two of the Group’s most experienced and proven senior executives with an extensive history of operational, strategic and fixed-mobile integration leadership. These appointments will further strengthen our Netherlands and UK businesses as our convergence strategy in those markets continues to gather pace.”
Apparently Jeffery will remain on the Group Executive Committee, while Jeroen Hoencamp will stand down from it because he must report to an independent Board once the Netherlands merger completes.
